  7. GeoWorks version 1.2 works fine under DR DOS but it does require
  8. some special configuration. Files need to be set at 120. This
  9. may seem like a high figure but it will only use about 9K of RAM
  10. and if you are using EMM386 no impact need occur on conventional
  11. memory. Ensemble will not even begin with files equal to 30.
  12.  
  13. TaskMAX can be initialized only with CTRL-ESC. No other hot keys
  14. can be used. Also end-users may find that they have no keyboard
  15. in their other tasks. We have also received reports that even if
  16. it does switch TaskMAX will eventually fail. At this time we
  17. cannot recommend the use of TaskMAX with GeoWorks Ensemble v.1.2.

  19. Any version of GeoWorks prior to 1.2 will not work under DR DOS
  20. 6.

  22. GeoWorks uses XMS memory when available and will use the HMA if
  23. it is available.

  25. There have been some reports that GeoWorks will not run when
  26. SuperPCK is loaded into upper memory (/&U+). If you are having
  27. trouble loading Ensemble try the switch /&U-. Also if you are
  28. using SuperPCK in expanded memory (/A+) advanced disk transfers
  29. must be turned off with a /H-.

  31. GeoWorks Pro

  33. GeoWorks Pro now has an interface that is fully compatible with
  34. DR DOS 6.0s TaskMAX interface. In fact if users have installed
  35. the new DR DOS 6.0 update that is dated 12/91 they will be able
  36. to use the TaskMAX cut and paste features with GeoWorks Pro.
